The UMBC Student Events Board is responsible for the majority of major campus events at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, but connecting with students isn't always simple. For the website redesign, I sought to offer lots of fun features and a variety of methods to convey the event information. The site utilizes a weekly Vimeo video blog, events page powered by Tumblr, and Twitter integration, so that users can retrieve information in a number of ways.
In addition, I've worked to organize and spread all of our content to make it accessible and available beyond the website itself. I've created a blog, which is fed into the "myUMBC" campus portal website, as well as a Facebook page, to which event listings and content is imported. Other projects included a special "entry" webpage to advertise our Homecoming 2007 comedy show, and a LiveJournal page, although we eventually abandoned that particular site.
